Haggard

Locked within this pensive cage
Wrapped in shadows and dismay
Spider webs inside my brain
Like the hangings of a timeworn palace
Long abandoned and decaying
Silent halls drive me insane
Rusty nails pushed through my veins
With bleeding fingers I scrape these walls in vain
What is it that I'm paying for?
I remember the punishment, not what's before
The void hath devoured the sin I committed
If this is a curse, how can it be lifted?
Cometh the Raven, dark night clad
My soul she will take to that world so sad

The faceless portrait, observing, mocks
The creeping leeches dry me out
Thread and needle shut my mouth
