I Welcome Thy Arrow

You're the hunter
I'm the haunted
Woven with sorrow's thread
Where I go you will follow
I welcome thy arrow

Hand me thy poisonous chalice
Impale me on thy spear
And adhere!
Steadfast in my sorrow
I welcome thy arrow

Neath idle, blood-shut eyes
There's a whole universe there

The indefinite chart
Of life's spectral ocean
But I was lost in woodlands
Famished and broken
Of what seemed like endless winter

The hunter and the haunted
Adrift from here
Over soul-sick burrow and shore
I welcome thy arrow

-Hand me thy poisonous chalice
With arms outstretched
Come here
This is thy prey!
And I will not pray to be saved
Not at ease with my sorrow
So I welcome thy arrow

Recounting its history
I'm keeping it here

The indefinite chart
Of life's spectral ocean
But I was lost in woodlands
Famished and broken
Of what seemed like endless winter

The hunter and the haunted
I lay outstretched and bare
In the vermillion glare
There's a whole universe there

No more am I to weep
I'm awakened from the dream
Of an insomniacs sleep
