Lyrics
From the race of the Vanir, came a spirit on this earth
In a parallel dimension watched mankind upon his birth
In the dark corners of the forests dwelt this spirit rogue and free
Minding cattle in his abode, in his world, his own decree
Though our worlds connected hence at times he thus appeared
Led his cattle to the mountains, and remote mines that folk then feared
A creature, proud, secluded, and demanded thus respect
To be left untroubled, so his cattle he can protect
So enraged becomes the Vitter, when the folk tread on his ground
Swears to drive away trespassers from the trail that they have found
And misfortune falls upon those who the signs choose to ignore
So his curse befalls upon them from his enchanted land of yore
So when in darkened pathways, through the woodlands of the North
Speak thus to the shadows…they will hear you coming forth
Ask them for their kindness as like them you’re Nature’s son
And the Vittra will thus answer for their trust you now have won
And still one can hear…
Their ghost cattle as they graze
Their bells echo through the Northlands
And in the tales of Skaldic lays…
